The Entertainer is a piano piece written in 1902 by Scott Joplin, the King of Ragtime; in 1974 it became world famous as theme music of the film The Sting. The popular piece provides a name for this collection of a hundred entertaining piano pieces from classical to popular music in very easy piano arrangements.
This selection of popular repertoire pieces is presented in three sections: Popular Highlights (Jazz, Pop, Musicals, Evergreens), Classical Highlights (Baroque, Classical, Romantic) and Song Highlights (Blues, Gospel, Folk). These enduringly successful audience favourites have one thing in common: they are easy to play and therefore quick to learn, fun to play and always well received.
The Entertainer offers eminently suitable material for beginners’ tuition, returning students and amateurs, who will all enjoy entertaining tunes from classical and pop music. These pieces are ideal for those first performances at music school.
